Vego Labs built the Client for Put.io app as a completely free app. This SERVICE is provided by Vego Labs at no cost and is intended for use as is.

This page is used to inform website visitors regarding out policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service.

If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation with this policy. The Personal Information that we collect are used for providing and improving the Service. we will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

To deliver you the most responsive and fluid experience the app caches the details of files, directories and some other services (uploads, friends, etc) from your Put.io account, on the app's personal space on your device's local storage, so that on each cold start, the application will be able show the last picture it saw of your storage at Put.io, with minimal delay.

If the beta feature, Show IMDB Rating is enabled (the feature is enabled by default) by visiting Settings -> Show IMDB Rating, the name of each video file you visit will be sent to a stateless server (the server doesn't save this information and treats each request anonymously) maintained by us, to determine whether this video file represents a movie or a tv show and to retrieve the corresponding IMDB rating if available. If you wish to opt-out from feature, you can do so by visiting Settings -> Show IMDB Rating.

If you have ever shared a video file, with an external party (non - put.io friend) using the app's share feature, the name you provide under the corresponding dialog will be saved on the app's personal storage on your device, so that the next time you wish to use the same feature, this field is automatically be populated using the saved value.

As mentioned early on, if the option, Show IMDB Rating is enabled, the app will share the name of each video file (on put.io) you visit, with a service developed and maintained by us. However to provide the most accurate results, this service consults OpenSubtitles.org. Thus the name of the video file will be passed down from this service to OpenSubtitles.org. If OpenSubtitles.org successfully recognizes this file name, this service contacts IMDB to retrieve the details of this movie/tv show. Ultimately this service will act as the middle man between the requests made by the app, and the responses sent by OpenSubtitles.org and IMDB, so that no request can be traced back to you.

We use the third party feedback/crash-reporting service, called HockeyApp. If you ever use the in-app feedback forms, your email address and username (at Put.io) will be shared with us through this service. We use the username to address you, and the email address to get in touch with you. None of these details are shared with any other third-party services. To make the experience better or as we expect it to be, we need to know when the app crashes and why. To collect this data we use another third-party service called, fabric.io. This allows us to gain some insight into the root cause of an issue. None of your personal details are collected through this service. However some of your device's hardware details might be. We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
